Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 2026
Ponitor is a product of Kwagei Group of Companies, Inc. ("we"), in Monrovia, Liberia. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use ponitor.com, the Ponitor app, the Ponitor API and our developer docs, what we do with it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Your information and your customers' information
Some of what we hold is about you and the people on your team: who you are, how to reach you and how you use Ponitor. We decide how that is used, as this policy describes.
The rest is about your customers: the numbers you send to, your contact lists, the messages you send and the replies you receive. We handle that on your behalf, only to deliver what you ask for, bill you for it and keep the service safe. You are responsible for having your customers' consent to contact them, as our Acceptable Use Policy sets out.
What we collect
- Your account. Your name, email address and phone number, your team's name and business details, and each member's role.
- Compliance. The business documents you send us for review before you go live, and the outcome of that review.
- Billing. Your invoices, the payments recorded against them, your balance and what each product cost you. We don't take card payments, so we hold no card numbers.
- What you send through Ponitor. Recipients' phone numbers, contact lists and groups, message content and templates, airtime and data top-ups, the steps of each USSD session, replies your customers send, delivery statuses and, if you use Mobile Money payments, the numbers and amounts involved.
- How you use Ponitor. Your IP address, browser, the pages you visit and a log of each API request. If you accept analytics, also how you move through the website and the app. If you also accept session recording in the app, we record your sessions there, with personal details masked.
How we use it
- To deliver your messages, top-ups and USSD sessions, and to bill you for them.
- To review your team before it goes live, and to file the reports the Liberia Telecommunications Authority (LTA) requires of a licensed VAS aggregator.
- To send you what the service needs to: invoices, low-balance alerts, completion emails and answers to your questions.
- To keep Ponitor secure, stop fraud and spam, and enforce our Acceptable Use Policy.
- To fix problems and improve the website and the app, using analytics only if you accepted them.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't use your customers' information to market anything to them.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only as far as each of these needs it:
- Orange Liberia and Lonestar Cell MTN, to deliver SMS, USSD sessions, airtime and data bundles.
- Meta and the WhatsApp service provider we use, to deliver WhatsApp messages.
- International SMS carriers, when you send to numbers outside Liberia.
- Our airtime and data provider, and Mobile Money providers when you use payments.
- The providers that send our email, issue our invoices, host our services and measure website and app use, who must keep it confidential.
- The LTA and other authorities, when the law requires it or to protect people from fraud or harm.
Cookies and analytics
The website and the app use cookies to keep you signed in and remember your choices. Analytics run only after you accept them on the cookie banner. If you decline, none run. To change your choice, clear this site's cookies and stored data in your browser, and the banner asks again.
How we protect it
Everything sent to and from Ponitor is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Only the staff who need personal information to run and support the service can see it, and they must keep it confidential.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. After it closes, we keep what we need for billing, tax and regulatory records and to settle disputes, for as long as the law requires, then delete it or remove what identifies you.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your information, apart from the records the law makes us keep.
- Stop using your information for analytics.
If you are one of our customers' customers, contact the business that messaged you first. We will help them answer you.
Changes to this policy
We post any change on this page and update the date at the top.
